When it comes to the life span, our LED can last for approximately 80000 hours. Let’s have the estimation. If you turn on our LED downlight 12 hours per day, 7 days per week, the bulb can theoretically last for 80000 ÷ 12 ÷ 365 = 18.3 years. It would be a rough value only as the life span of the LED depends on several factors – such as the ambient temperature, the frequency and the operating time.
Truly speaking, heat does affect the life span of LED. High intrinsic temperature could speed up the deterioration of the electronic components inside LED. On the contrary, the low temperature would enhance the brightness of the LED. How can we ensure the desirable heat dissipation? The downlights are equipped with heat sink. The extended aluminum fins provide large surface area for heat loss. The fins can transmit the heat generated at the LED light source to the fins. Besides, there is seamless connection between the heat source and the extended fins so as to ensure the effective heat conduction. Many customers would focus on the brightness and the efficiency of the LED bulb, only few of them would pay attention to the heat production of LED that affect the life span.
