Volleyball Court LED Lighting

In small rooms with low lighting requirements, implemented a system of lighting with fluorescent lamps. One of the best ways is to install lighting fixtures along the longitudinal walls. Lamps must be protected against damage to the ball.

The indoor sports facilities with stands and the possibility of doing a television broadcast of the competition, can be regarded as the predominant system upper side lighting. A typical scheme involves a device upper-side lighting with asymmetrical optics, at the height of the installation of devices not less than 12 meters. Large areas of the halls require concentrated light distribution devices, often with specially calculated reflectors profiles.

For volleyball courts located in the open air, the system will apply the upper side led lighting installation height searchlight equipment is less than 12 meters. Lighting poles are aligned with the volleyball net sinks.

The rooms do not involve the television broadcast of the competition is possible to use LED lighting systems, provided if the equipment is protected against power surges. The main advantages of LED light sources is a high contrast, good color rendering and low ripple.

Yet, to date, more efficient equipment (stability of the value of the ratio of the luminous flux) can be considered equipment floodlights.

William G. Morgan of Massachusetts created volleyball in 1895, combining elements of basketball, baseball, handball and tennis into one sport. None of the existing balls at the time were suitable for keeping aloft over a high net. A new ball had to be developed specifically for this new sport.

Early Balls

Because the ball needs to be kept airborne, it needs to be fairly light but not so light that it can only move slowly. Originally the game was played with a bladder from a basketball but this was too slow as it was not heavy enough. Early players attempted to use basketballs but they were too heavy.

Spalding Ball

Morgan asked the factory of A.G. Spalding & Bros. near Chicopee, Massachusetts to make him a special ball for the game. They created a ball in 1900 consisting of three layers. The first was a latex bladder made from material like a bicycle tire, the second was a cheesecloth material around the bladder, and the third was a leather outer layer. This was satisfactory and modern volleyballs have not changed significantly since the first design.

Lighting volleyball courts, and as we see using our spotlights?

In volleyball, the ball moves in the space above the playing area and line of athletes when receiving the ball or offensive actions directed above the horizon. Therefore, volleyball court lighting should meet certain requirements:

a. Level of horizontal and vertical illuminance corresponding to the class competition.

b. The uniformity of illumination;

c. Indicator glare lighting,

d. Color rendition and color temperature of the light source;

e. A typical scheme involves the lighting device. Power searchlight equipment depends on the height of the suspension lamps and applied optics.

Core Flood LED Light

volleyball-court-lighting-productOur Flood Light Core has 15W chips installed, which helps creating a light structure, under a high-power context, with a very appealing price. As there is more power in each individual chip, less chips are required to produce the same overall high-power output. Lumen per watt is 130 lm/W. The lenses are premium, with very accurate optics.

Flood lights are widely used to illuminate large areas, such as Sports Stadiums (Volleyball Courts, Cricket Fields, Rugby Courts) Arenas, Airports, Ports, Harbors, Construction Sites, etc.

Until the early 1930s volleyball was for the most part a game of leisure and recreation, and there were only a few international activities and competitions. There were different rules of the game in the various parts of the world; however, national championships were played in many countries (for instance, in Eastern Europe where the level of play had reached a remarkable standard).

Volleyball thus became more and more a competitive sport with high physical and technical performance.
